Since 2009 we have recognised people who have made a special contribution by making them one of our flood stars.
- Susanna Pressel, 2009. Dedicated City Councillor, supporting people and pushing to reduce flooding since the major flood of 2000.
- Mary Timbrell, 2009. Local resident, very active in helping others during and after floods.
- Nigel Bray, 2009. Consulting Engineer to the EA, has worked on reducing flood risk in Oxford since 2000. Never reluctant to wade in to help! Nigel is known and admired by many people.
- Keith Hutchence, 2010. Keith’s award recognises the skills and commitment he has brought to his role in keeping communications between the authorities and the community open and active, making all-important cooperative working a reality.
- Paul Kirkley, 2011, works as an engineer for Oxford City. His professional skills, commitment, and cooperative way of working have been instrumental in turning ideas into practical flood relief projects.
- John Copley, 2014. Oxford City officer responsible for flooding and Chair of the OAFP since its inception in 2007. Working behind the scenes John has saved many people from the misery of flooding.
- Barry Russell, 2014. Out in every flood, masterminding EA operations and known for his dedication to the task, many people know and thank Barry for all his hard word, professionalism and unflagging good humour.
- 2015, Steve Smith. Engineer with Oxford City Council, Steve has contributed ideas and his professional skills in several successful flood relief projects in Oxford, bringing relief to many people. He has also organised the excellent Oxford Area Flood Partnership.
- Colin Cook, 2018. City Councillor Colin Cook has supported our efforts since our beginning 10 years ago, attending every OFA Annual Public Meeting in that time. Over the past 18 months he has been a determined and eloquent ally in our opposition to the expansion of Seacourt P&R,
