12 Oxford City Councillors have successfully asked for the application to be Called-in for consideration by the council’s Planning Review Committee. The next meeting of that committee is (provisionally) on 18 January 2018 so that seems the likely date – but subject to confirmation.
Also in the Oxford Mail re city centre car park charges rising – NB this affects only Worcester St (104 spaces) and Gloucester Green (209). Oxpens (420) and Westgate (1002) are not affected.
We’re still here and busier than ever until the ridiculous and ill-considered proposal to extend Seacourt park and ride is finally defeated or abandoned.
Who in their right minds would want to build a car park in a flood plain in the first place? Talk about a white elephant. Add that it’ll cost at least £4 million and not be used makes it even more baffling.

The Oxford Mail has reported already. We’ll have a great deal more to say about what went on, but for the tonight the article speaks for itself.
This is far from over yet, this was only the first round, the fight continues unabated tomorrow.
We had planned to post parking space availability numbers again yesterday and today, but won’t be doing so as they would be unrepresentative because of the snowy weather reducing travelling generally.
